Final Destination Bloodlines

So we went and saw Final Destination Bloodlines in the prerelease. This one was an interesting take on the franchise. It has nothing to do with any of the people previously on the other movies...however it also has everything to do with them. They are the entire reason the main girl in the movie figures it all out...well that and grandma but that's the whole new story in this. It starts out like every final destination and gives us the flashback before the actual event happens. We have a twist though because it really honestly leads you to believe it isn't a flash back at first but we find out that ...well grandma was just like the other main protagonists but she isn't our main hero in this story...its the granddaughter. She has a way of not having the premonitions but feeling and seeing deaths design. That was a pretty cool thing to see and she was able to see things of the past with her grandmother. We also get to see Tony Todd who unscripted got to say goodbye to all of us. We love you always and rest in peace my guy!

So lets get into our thoughts. We loved this movie. Though it might not be super scary it is suspenseful and makes your heart jump and your butt at the edge of the seat.  It has twists and turns and some funny as hell moments as well. It had some gore of course but it wasn't too bad. It was pretty tasteful hpnestly...as tasteful as blood and gore can be . It also had quite a plot and honestly step mom gives me life lol.

So on a scale from our stand point we give it a 8/10 all around for good thrills, chills, and suspense. The horror come through the suspense of it all.

We recommend you going to see it if you are a fan opf the franchise and even if you aren't we think you will enjoy it but honestly at least watch the first movie before you see this and get a feel for what it is all about. !!

Live Action Lilo and Stitch Review

Hey guys!!! So we went to see the new Lilo and Stitch Live action movie and we must say it was a lot better than we expected. We know we have been seeing a lot of hate going into seeing it and we saw it on day 4 after release. We were definitely a little skeptical but also we know that people now a days just want to have something to argue about. So we went into it knowing it was not going to be like the original but hopefully not as terrible as the live action Snow White.

Lets get to the review part....well.... so there are a few things that are going to spoil it for you so please do not read these next 2 paragraphs....

So we know that captain Gantu is not in the movie and they made Jumba the sole villian with no redemption arc. That of course did bother us and is hard to forgive...Jumba is part of their Ohana dang it!!!. That actually bothered us quite a bit. The little things they changed were some of the lines and of course Nani's role in Lilo's life and what jobs she had and this and that. Jumba had a different voice and he and Pleakley get a real human form. Cobra Bubbles is still part of the CIA and the interactions with him and the Grand Council Woman was a bit different because of this. Lets see what else...Oh and they added new characters like David's mom who becomes guardian of Lilo so Nani can go to college and cps didn't put her into foster care Now these changes were the ones we most heard about and saw for ourselves as well. These we can forgive and I'll tell you why!!

The lines being changed and scenes cut and scenes added.... this to us is ok because they kept the important stuff that gives us that good old nostalgic feeling while adding new ones that made the movie make sense in a real life matter. They took out scenes that some may see as important but in the end those scenes aren't going to affect the outcome or quality of the movie. Also they connected their mother and father directly to Lilo 's interests and to Nani's interests like Hula and Marine Biology and of course surfing. We got to dive just a bit more into finding out about their parents back stories as well. we thought that was pretty neat to hear more. We learned that Nani had a big goal in her life that had to be put on the back burner when their parents passed away. this to me made it more relatable and believable. In real life it would make sense and this has happened to many parents and especially women when they have a child or end up becoming a guardian. Also stop griping about how she left Lilo and went selfishly to her college leaving her Ohana behind....um first off i am happy she is able to do what she wanted to do so she can make a better life for her and Nani. Also she had the portal gun and so she could literally visit Lilo anytime she wanted. She left Lilo in amazing hands with people she knows will love and care for her always. Jumbas voice being different was weird at first and we admit that it did sound odd at first but once  you get used to it it isn't so bad. Minor...and Pleakly and him getting human forms...it makes sense they actually blend in that way. Its believable. Cobra Bubbles being in the CIA still and there being a separate case worker for Lilo made sense as well. That little spin on it gave it more relatability and also added to the plot a bit.  Didn't change the narrative to much but didn't change it negatively we thought. It was a nice change. Of course the Grand Council Woman and his interactions were different because of a few words but it didn't change much either...oh well. Oh and of course a few changes in Stitches line and scenes but again it seemed like these were changes to make it seem more relatable and believable. Although we would have loved to see more Elvis Stitch and Superhero Stitch. OK now lets get back to the non spoiling stuff.

We thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It was nostalgic while giving us new stuff to look forward too. It stuck to the original story for the most part but gave us a few curveballs in there. We found that enjoyable for sure. That way it isn't a carbon copy or clone of the older one. It had some heart jerking moments, some hilarious moments, and some super nostalgic moments that made us laugh, cry, and just really have a good time. We kept an open mind just like we do with every remake, live action, or reimagining. So the ending isnt what we wanted but it was still good none the less and ...leaves room for another movie.

We found some interesting easter eggs in it. Pay attention to drawings, pay attention to the spaceships, and pay attention well to everything honestly. ALSO we have a theory .... because of a few easter eggs we believe we may see Jumba, Gantu, 627 and Angel possibly in the next one if they do a Stitch 2.

Anyways, we give this a solid  9/10 for enjoyment and wholesome family fun. We think adults and children alike would love it. We need remember to keep an open mind. Learn to just enjoy the movie and not be so hyoercritical.

Movies releasing in Theaters and Streaming June 2025

June 6

“Ballerina,” (Lionsgate, theaters): Ana de Armas leads this “John Wick” spinoff about a deadly (and classically trained) assassin.

“The Life of Chuck” (Neon, theaters): This is not your typical Stephen King adaptation. Mike Flanagan directs the sentimental and supernatural story about the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz, told in three chapters. Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mia Sara, Benjamin Pajak and Karen Gillan are among the large ensemble cast.

“The Ritual” (XYZ Films, theaters): Al Pacino and Dan Stevens as men of the church performing exorcisms? Sure, why not.

“Dangerous Animals” (IFC Films, theaters): Jai Courtney plays a serial killer who feeds his victims to sharks in this bonkers-sounding movie.

“I Don’t Understand You” (Vertical, theaters): Nick Kroll and Andrew Rannells are a couple vacationing in Italy in this dark comedy with an escalating body count.

“Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye” (GKIDS, theaters): More adventures of Momo and Okarun in this series based on the popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu.

June 13

“How to Train Your Dragon” (Universal, theaters): Unlike most live adaptations of animated movies, filmmaker Dean DeBlois is behind both. DeBlois said their goal was to make the film “really immersive,” to dial up the sense of urgency and peril and “to just pull the audience in and make them feel like these dragons are real, that you could own one, you could fly on the back of one.” Mason Thames plays Hiccup and Nico Parker takes on the role of Astrid in this epic fantasy sure to enchant a new generation (and the one who grew up on the original).

“Materialists” (A24, theaters): Dakota Johnson plays a matchmaker torn between two prospects (played by Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal) in love story from “Past Lives” filmmaker Celine Song. “It’s a modern love story that’s set in New York City and it’s inspired by the brief time that I worked as a professional matchmaker,” Song said. “I really tried in this film to be really honest about the marketplace of dating, as the people actually experience it and live it today.”

“The Unholy Trinity” (Roadside Attractions, theaters): Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson lead this Western, set in 1870s Montana.

“Prime Minister” (Magnolia, theaters): This documentary follows Jacinda Ardern through her tenure as prime minister of New Zealand.

June 20

“28 Years Later” (Sony Pictures, theaters): The original team behind “28 Days Later,” including director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, return with a new entry featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes.

“Elio” (Disney/Pixar, theaters): This intergalactic adventure centers on an 11-year-old earthling (Yonas Kibreab) who is abducted by aliens and assumed to be a world leader. Oscar-winner Zoe Saldaña is part of the voice cast.

“Marlee Matlin: Not Alone Anymore” (Kino Lorber, theaters): Marlee Matlin gives an unflinchingly honest account of her experiences as a deaf actor in this funny and revelatory documentary, directed by Shoshannah Stern, who also is deaf. The film is closed captioned and includes verbal translations for hearing audiences.

“Sovereign” (Briarcliff, theaters): Dennis Quaid, Nick Offerman and Jacob Tremblay lead this crime thriller about anti-government extremists and a police standoff.

“ Bride Hard” (Magenta Light Studios, theaters): Rebel Wilson is a secret agent whose skills come in handy at her friend’s wedding when a hostage situation emerges in this Simon West-directed comedy.

“Everything’s Going to Be Great” (Lionsgate, theaters): Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney are lifelong actors in regional theater trying to raise their very different sons.

“Alma and the Wolf” (Republic Pictures, theaters): Ethan Embry and “Sinners” breakout Li Jun Li star in this psychological horror about a mysterious wolf attack and a police officer’s missing son.

June 27

“F1” (Warner Bros./Apple, theaters): Brad Pitt plays “the best that never was,” F1 driver Sonny Hayes, who’s recruited to mentor a young up-and-comer (Damson Idris) in this high-octane film from “Top Gun: Maverick” filmmaker Joseph Kosinski. Real racing cars were used, driver Lewis Hamilton consulted and a new camera system was developed to give audiences an immersive experience. “It’s a story about a last-place team, a group of underdogs, and Sonny Hayes in his later years having one more chance to try to do something he was never able to do, which is win a race in F1,” Kosinski said.

“M3GAN 2.0” (Universal, theaters): The creepy, dancing doll is back — as is an even more dangerous version on a killing spree whom she has to stop. Any questions?

“Sorry, Baby” (A24, theaters): One of the big breakouts from this year’s Sundance Film Festival, the debut feature of writer-director-star Eva Victor follows Agnes, a grad student, in the aftermath of a sexual assault. “I wanted to make a film that was about feeling stuck when everyone around you keeps moving,” Victor said. “I really think the thing it’s about is trying to heal and the slow pace at which healing comes and how it’s really not linear and how there are joys to be found in the everyday and especially in very affirming friendships and sometimes, like, a sandwich depending on the day.”

“Hot Milk” (IFC Films, theaters): Things heat up on the Spanish coast, where Sofia (Emma Mackey) and her mother (Fiona Shaw) have gone in hopes of helping her mysterious illness. There Sofia meets a beguiling stranger (Vicky Krieps). This Berlin selection is based on a novella by Deborah Levy.
