October Theatrical Releases
As of early October 2025, several horror and thriller films are scheduled for theatrical release during the month. New wide releases include Black Phone 2, Frankenstein, and Shelby Oaks. Theaters may also feature special screenings of classic horror movies for Halloween.

Coyotes: (October 3)
Black Phone 2: A follow-up to the 2022 supernatural thriller. Set years after the events of the first film, the story focuses on a now-17-year-old Finn as his sister begins receiving calls from the black phone and experiences unsettling visions.

Frankenstein: Directed by Guillermo del Toro, this film stars Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein's monster and Oscar Isaac as Dr. Frankenstein in a new take on the classic story.

Limited releases and special screenings
Halloween (1978): The classic slasher film starring Jamie Lee Curtis will be featured in special screenings on Halloween night.
Psycho (1960): Alfred Hitchcock's iconic horror film is being screened in select locations.
Shaun of the Dead: A screening of the 2004 zombie-comedy is planned in some theaters.
Little Shop of Horrors (1986): The horror-comedy musical starring Rick Moranis will have special screenings.
The Thing (1982): Screenings of the science fiction horror film are being held at specialty cinemas.
Other releases
Trick 'r Treat: Screenings of the cult classic Halloween anthology film will take place mid-month.
Vincent Must Die: This French film will debut theatrically on Halloween.
