The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a 2026 animated adventure comedy film based on Nintendo's Mario franchise. The sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), it was directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic and written by Matthew Fogel. Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key reprise their roles, with Benny Safdie, Donald Glover, Glen Powell, and Brie Larson joining the cast. It was produced by Illumination and Nintendo. In the film, Mario and Luigi and their friends adventure into outer space, where they meet Princess Rosalina and face off against Bowser and his son, Bowser Jr.
Princess Rosalina, the adoptive mother of the Lumas living in the Comet Observatory, is kidnapped by Bowser Jr., who plots to drain her power to create life to fuel a universe-destroying cannon in honor of his father, Bowser, who was defeated by Mario and Luigi and shrunken by Princess Peach.[a] Rosalina sends a Luma to the Mushroom Kingdom, where it enlists Peach and Toad for help. Mario and Luigi are called to inspect a disturbance in the desert town of Tosterena, where they meet and befriend the dinosaur Yoshi, who had hatched in Brooklyn and was pursued back to his home world after breaking a dinosaur skeleton. In Peach and Toad's absence, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi protect the Mushroom Kingdom and attempt to rehabilitate Bowser.
Of Course Bowser Jr just wants his good ole bad dad back and it goes on a wild adventure.
I personally loved this movie. It was everything you want in a movie that is giving all us millennials so much nostalgia and even gen z and alpha grew up on Mario. It is something that we all share a common interest on and it makes me so happy to see one thing bringing all shapes, ages, genders, form of people together from all walks of earth. It doesn't matter what age you are this movie is very much for everyone.
Jack Black did a stellar job of the chaotic Bowser and of course i love my mans Luigi and Charlie Day does a great Luigi. I hope hey bring is Wario and Waluigi soon. Chris Pratt is a very good Mario and well everyone was perfectly match with each character. The first one i would say was a little better but this one was still amazing. I give it a 8.5/10 and i highly suggest going to see this with the WHOLE family. It was so Amazing and fun !!!
